<p>The NFL announced Wednesday that two teams submitted proposed resolutions ahead of the annual league meeting, scheduled for March 29 to April 1.</p><p>The Cleveland Browns proposed allowing teams to trade draft selections up to five seasons in the future, expanding the current limit from three years.</p><p>The Browns say that extending the trade window on draft picks will provide greater roster-building flexibility, per a copy of the proposal obtained by the <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/2034396835498828163?s=20">NFL Network's Tom Pelissero</a>. Cleveland also believes the rule change will encourage a more active trade market and promote creative trade structures that reflect the value of both the draft picks and players.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are advocating for the permanent adoption of a rule implemented during the 2025 season that allows teams to conduct one video or phone call with up to five prospective unrestricted free agents during the two-day negotiation period before free agency. The proposal would also permit clubs to arrange travel for such players once terms are agreed upon.</p><p>Last year, the league considered proposals to change playoff seeding so that the teams with the best records would be ranked higher, regardless of division. <p>The Hockey Hall of Fame won't give New Jersey Devils star <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/8594" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/8594">Jack Hughes</a> the puck from his overtime goal that secured Team USA's gold medal at the Milan Cortina Olympics in February.</p><p>"Unfortunately, in the easiest words, it was never Jack's puck to own," Philip Pritchard, vice president of the resource center and HHOF curator, told <a href="https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/48241628/hockey-hall-fame-give-golden-goal-puck-jack-hughes">ESPN's Greg Wyshynski</a> on Wednesday.</p><p>"It's been donated to us now. For every artifact that's been donated, we have a paper trail and signed paperwork of where it's come from."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>While the Hockey Hall of Fame can request items connected to NHL milestones and events, players and teams aren't obligated to donate them. In contrast, Pritchard said the IIHF has collected, authenticated, and preserved items from the Olympics and world championship tournaments since 1998.</p><p>"Items are formally transferred to the Hall through IIHF's established artifact donation process and added into our permanent collection," the HHOF said in a statement.</p><p>Hughes, however, believes he should own the puck from his overtime goal against Canada that gave the American men their first Olympic gold medal since 1980.</p><p>"I'm trying to get it. Like, that's bullshit that the Hockey Hall of Fame has it, in my opinion. Why would they have that puck?" Hughes told <a href="https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/48232450/jack-hughes-wants-golden-goal-puck-back-hockey-hof">ESPN's Greg Wyshynski </a>on Tuesday.</p><p>The golden-goal puck from Team USA's triumph is currently being showcased at the HHOF in Toronto. The puck from Boston Fleet star <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///pwhl/players/15708" href="https://thescore.com/pwhl/players/15708">Megan Keller</a>'s overtime goal, which clinched gold for the U.S. women's hockey team over Canada, is also among the mementos in the "Olympics '26" display.</p><p>Pritchard also noted that ownership of the puck now involves legal considerations.</p><p>"Part of being a nonprofit registered charity in Canada is it becomes kind of a legal document that we've received it as a donation," Pritchard explained. "We've insured it, we've preserved it, we conserved everything. It becomes part of our institution."</p><p>Hughes wanted to give the piece of history to his father, Jim, who acts as the family archivist for Jack and his brothers, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/7960" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/7960">Quinn Hughes</a> and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nhl/players/10579" href="https://thescore.com/nhl/players/10579">Luke Hughes</a>.</p><p>"I wouldn't even want it for myself. <p>Las Vegas Raiders defensive end <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/100596" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/100596">Maxx Crosby</a> revealed he was "livid" and "confused" after the Baltimore Ravens nixed a trade that would've sent him to a new team for two first-round picks.</p><p>"No one will ever admit what the real truth is. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. I am where I'm supposed to be," Crosby said on the latest episode of his podcast, "The Rush."</p><p>Crosby also described last week as a "whirlwind" after the Ravens withdrew from a trade over reported knee concerns.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The relationship between Crosby and the Raiders had apparently soured late last campaign, when the team shut him down against his wishes with two games left in the regular season for surgery on his injured knee.</p><p>Crosby shared that the Ravens flew him first-class to Washington, DC, on March 9 - three days after the reported trade - because there were no direct flights to Baltimore. He added that he underwent a physical and an MRI the following day but didn't speak with Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta until he was about to leave.</p><p>"I thought I was going to see (DeCosta) when I first got there," Crosby said, according to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48234425/raiders-crosby-nixed-trade-where-supposed-be">ESPN's Ryan McFadden</a>. "I don't know why. I'm not going to speculate. He just made the trade, and I didn't see him for five hours."</p><p>Crosby also said that he sensed that the energy felt off inside the Ravens' facility. He added that he was terrified when DeCosta informed him that a team doctor had concerns about his surgically repaired knee and wanted additional medical opinions.</p><p>The five-time Pro Bowler said he returned to his hotel room and spoke with his agents, CJ LaBoy and Doug Hendrickson, who believed Baltimore might cancel the trade. Crosby said he later spoke with a member of the Ravens' staff, who told him the team still planned to get the deal done.</p><p>Shortly after talking with the Ravens staffer, Crosby said one of his agents told him that Baltimore called off the trade.</p><p>"I'm like 'Holy shit,'" Crosby said. "I told (LaBoy), 'I'm trying to get out of here.'"</p><p>DeCosta recently said the decision to rescind the deal left him "<a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3497565" href="https://thescore.com/news/3497565">gutted</a>."</p><p>"I've got a responsibility to the Ravens, to this community, to our fans, and to (team owner) Steve Bisciotti to do what we think is best for the club. And that's what we always try to do," DeCosta said.</p><p>Crosby's surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, said the veteran defender is doing well in the early part of surgery following a significant meniscus tear and related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. The menacing pass-rusher is expected to be ready for training camp in July.</p><p>Despite releasing an emotional goodbye video to Raiders nation, Crosby said he's ready for an eighth campaign with Las Vegas.</p><p>"I'm here. I'm meant to be a Raider," Crosby said. "I'm in this shit for life until that changes, which I don't foresee, but you never know in this damn league."</p>

<p>The Houston Texans released running back <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/82723" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/82723">Joe Mixon</a> with a non-football injury designation Friday, according to <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/2030046284489384248?s=20">NFL Network's Tom Pelissero</a>. </p><p>The two-time Pro Bowler asked for his release Thursday, a source told <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/2030021359301009881?s=20">ESPN's Adam Schefter</a>.</p><p>The Texans save $8 million in cap space but retain $2 million in dead money as a result of the move, according to <a href="https://overthecap.com/player/joe-mixon/5634">Over the Cap</a>.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Mixon missed the entire 2025 season due to a foot injury sustained away from the team's facility. Houston general manager Nick Caserio said in January that Mixon's status for the 2026 campaign remained uncertain because of the "freak" injury.</p><p>"We haven't seen Joe in a little bit, so I think at some point we'll see him and then we'll be able to evaluate kind of where he is, and then based on information, we'll see where his status is," Caserio <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3461025" href="https://thescore.com/news/3461025">said</a>.</p><p>Mixon provided a massive boost to the Texans' backfield in 2024 after being acquired in a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals the offseason prior. He averaged 4.1 yards per carry while rushing for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also brought in 36 receptions for 309 receiving yards.</p><p>Houston has sought insurance at the position over the past couple of seasons. The team signed <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/83417" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/83417">Nick Chubb</a> as a free agent last summer, pairing him with then-rookie <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/210197" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/210197">Woody Marks</a>. The Texans are now also poised to lean on <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/112122" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/112122">David Montgomery</a> after acquiring the bruising halfback from the Detroit Lions on Monday.</p><p>Mixon, 29, rushed for over 1,000 yards in five of his eight NFL campaigns. The Oklahoma product has accounted for 7,428 rushing yards and 74 total touchdowns in his career.</p>

Gary added, "The opportunity to represent Green Bay and Packers Nation across the country and around the world is something that I will never forget.</p><p>"Like all chapters in life, this one has come to an end."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The post was deleted shortly thereafter. The 28-year-old is set to carry a $28-million cap hit for the 2026 season, according to <a href="https://overthecap.com/player/rashan-gary/7803">Over the Cap</a>. Green Bay would be able to create $10.9 million in cap space by trading Gary prior to June 1.</p><p>The Michigan product finished with 7.5 sacks in both his 2024 and 2025 campaigns. The Packers expected Gary to be one half of a formidable tandem after acquiring <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/161667" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/161667">Micah Parsons</a> from the Dallas Cowboys.</p><p>Gary's recorded 46.5 sacks and 46 tackles for loss over seven seasons with Green Bay.</p>
