Ross Chastain: Engine Failure at Loudon

Rotowire ·

Chastain suffered an engine failure and finished 36th in the Dollar Tree 301 NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

Chastain qualified well but his hopes for a good finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway quickly faded on Sunday. The Trackhouse Racing veteran would suffer some type of mechanical failure on lap 41. Smoke would pour from under his hood and Chastain took the car straight to the garage. He would be the first retirement of the race and take home the disappointing DNF and 36th-place finish. The outcome eliminated Chastain from playoff contention for the Chase.
