The Houston Rockets re-signed forward Tari Eason to a five-year, $81.5-million contract, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Eason's new contract includes a player option in the fifth year and a 10% trade kicker, reports The Athletic's Sam Amick.
Houston selected Eason with the No. 17 overall pick in 2022. The LSU product averaged 10.5 points, 6.3 boards, 1.5 assists, and 1.2 steals across 60 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. He was also 14th in the Association in steal percentage (2.3%) and 17th in offensive rebound percentage (9%).
Eason was an asset for the Rockets on the defensive end, ranking fourth on the team with 142 deflections. Houston surrendered 1.9 fewer points per 100 possessions with him on the floor.
The 6-foot-8 forward improved as a 3-point shooter last season, knocking down a career-high 93 triples at a 35.8% clip.
