Teams are tracking the status of New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara following the franchise's reported signing of Travis Etienne, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

There are questions around the league about whether Kamara will move on from the Saints or whether the team would be willing to trade him, Schefter adds.

Kamara is coming off of a disappointing season that saw him average a career-low 3.6 yards per carry. Injuries also took a toll with a knee issue limiting the 30-year-old to 11 games.

The veteran running back was widely thought to be a trade target during the 2025 season but said he'd "go drink a piña colada somewhere" if he was moved, indicating he could retire.

New Orleans agreed to a four-year, $52-million contract with Etienne on Monday.

The Saints selected Kamara in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He began his career with five straight Pro Bowl seasons but hasn't gone to one since. He's totaled 12,198 yards from scrimmage and 86 total touchdowns across his nine seasons.
