The Dallas Cowboys and free-agent safety Jalen Thompson have agreed to a three-year deal worth up to $36 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Jane Slater.
Thompson spent seven seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, making 99 appearances (87 starts).
The 27-year-old was one of Arizona's most consistent contributors in recent years, averaging 99 tackles, six pass breakups, and one interception per season.
Thompson is the last player to be selected in the supplemental draft, landing with the Cardinals in 2019.
Thompson will presumably serve as an immediate starter for the Cowboys, who've struggled defensively in the past two seasons. The team is letting safety Donovan Wilson test free agency.
Dallas made another notable addition on defense earlier Monday, reportedly acquiring edge rusher Rashan Gary from the Green Bay Packers for a fourth-round pick in 2027.
